SCENE #19: CONTINUED: (2)

Abbott takes a moment -- should he tell her? Rose looks at him, suddenly she senses something larger may be happening here.

ROSE (CONT'D)
Is there something that you're not telling me, Harold?

And seeing her that way... He can't. So he smiles.

DOCTOR ABBOTT
No. Of course not. It's just... she's growing up so fast. That's all.

Rose exhales, snuggles up closer to her husband.

ROSE
I know she is.

DOCTOR ABBOTT
Perhaps if we reminded her of the promises she made at Sunday School back when she was a girl, that might have an impact.

ROSE
You can try. But just remember, we were only two years older than they are now when we...

DOCTOR ABBOTT
Yes, and God punished us with Bright.

ROSE
Oh, Harold...

Rose gives him a playful punch, which Abbott catches. And then he kisses her, lovingly. And then it moves in a different way... And then - It Is On. The phone BUZZES. This time, they don't notice it for an entirely different reason... Smooching has begun, people. Off Abbott and Rose...

SCENE #20: INT. NINA'S CAR. NIGHT.

... onto a BLOODY, SCREAMING SAM! Nina is freaking out, trying to drive, and dial at once.

NINA
Where the hell are all the friggin' doctors in this town?!

SAM
You said hell.

NINA
Sorry, sweetie...

They hit a bump. Sam cries louder, the pain back on.

SAM
It hurts...

NINA
I know. I told you not to flip...

SAM
I wasn't flipping! I was doing jumps.

NINA
I'm sorry. You're right. Just keep the sock on it. Okay/

SAM
But it's all bloody...

Sam continues to cry, as Nina's eyes light up. Idea.

NINA
Hold on, baby... Just hold on.

Nina flips her phone open again, starts to dial...

SCENE #21: INT. FANCY RESTAURANT. NIGHT.

And this time, the phone belongs to Jake. He's in the middle of the date with a PRETTY YOUNG THING. Thing is, he looks less than thrilled.

PRETTY YOUNG THING
I can't believe you left L.A. to come here. I would die to live in there.

JAKE
But that would sort of defeat the purpose, right?

PRETTY YOUNG THING
The purpose of what?

Mercifully, Jake finally notices his vibrating phone.

JAKE
Sorry, I've gotta take this.
(then, into phone)
Doctor Hartman...
