SCENE #12: CONTINUED: (2)

DOCTOR BROWN (CONT'D)
I'm gonna go change my shirt.

He hightails it out of there. Delia looks down at herself.

DELIA
Me too.

She heads back into her closet. Brittany rolls her eyes. Who's more nervous, here? Father or daughter?

SCENE #13: INT. ABBOTT CABIN. EARLY EVENING.

It's as quaint as the pictures from the photo album suggested. Ephram sits on the couch, twiddling his thumbs, and by the way - FREEZING. A clock on the wall reads 7:30. She should be here any minute. Anxious, he gets up, starts to roam.

He opens the fridge. STANK! He quickly shuts it, and continues snooping. There are pictures all over the place. Amy as a little girl. Big, toothless grins. Kid drawings tacked to the walls, signed in Crayola by Amy Abbott.

Remember that little alcove Abbott was talking about? There it is, with a pillow fortess inside. And finally, a frayed stuffed bear. It could only be Amy's. Ephram picks it up, smiles, and suddenly, it's like she's in the room with him.

And then... His face changes. Smile gone. We don't know what he's thinking, but a decision is being made. He puts down the bear, grabs, his keyes, and walks out of the house...

Um, Ephram? Where ya going?

SCENE #14: EXT. ICE RINK. NIGHT.

Brightly colored scarves whip in the wind as KIDS tumble their way through the ice. TOWNSPEOPLE sip on theri cocoa and cider (is it laced? We'll never know). Nina is ready to go, but SAM is clearly not.

NINA
You ready to go?

SAM
Five more minutes.

NINA
Five more than the five more I just gave you five minutes ago?

SAM
Don't make me do math. It's Saturday.

NINA
C'mon, Sam...

SAM
But Roxy and Michael just got here. We were gonna get a hockey team together. And then Roxy promised to show me how to flip...

NINA
How's this? You get ten more minutes if you SWEAR you won't flip. Ever, in your whole life.

Sam considers.

SAM
Fifteen minutes. My whole life is a long time.

NINA
Deal.

SAM
Yesssss!

As Sam races back into the rink. Off Nina, wondering why she didn't make Carl wear a condom that night...

SCENE #15: INT. ABBOTT HOUSE. FOYER. NIGHT.

Amy and Hannah trundle down the stairs, Amy carrying a fairly large knapsack with her. We can see Abbott in the TV room, going through DVDs. He stops when he sees the girls.

DOCTOR ABBOTT
I was just going to call you down. Hannah, my dear, I believe tonight is your night to pick the movie.

HANNAH
Oh...

DOCTOR ABBOTT
And I've made my special Jalapeño popcorn. You'll find it rather adventurous to the taste buds...
